Letters Home is a digital exhibition that is an online extension of the Outside the Wire project, utilizing archival photographs, handwritten and typed letters, and official military documents to tell the story of three veterans, Daniel White, Richard Krebs, and John B. Moullette, serving in several branches of the Armed Forces (U.S. Army & U.S. Marine Corps), and stationed in various locations of military campaigns in WWII & the Korean War (Italy, Philippines, & Japan). Included in each soldier’s page are maps to provide a visual guide of where each soldier was stationed as they were writing their letters home or in their published accounts.

Letters Home was expanded in 2021 to include oral history accounts of veterans who served in the Armed Forces. "Soldiers Stories" features Susette Brooks, Taryn Cooper, Adam Straus, and Hugh Martin. Follow the Outside the Wire website and social media to learn about Outside the Wire’s open call interviews of veterans.
